Product Care

Whilst we take great care to produce a high quality items for you to enjoy, certain steps should be taken to ensure the longevity of your product.

Timber is a natural product that is vulnerable to environmental conditions. Temperature extremes, as well as changes in humidity can have an impact on timber. Damage can occur if the appropriate care is not taken.

Plant Hangers

Plant hangers are recommended for indoor use only. If they are to be used in an outdoor area, please ensure that they are not exposed to the prevailing weather conditions.

To ensure that your hanger remains in excellent condition, ensure that following weight limits are observed:

  • Air Plant Hangers – air plants only

  • Small Teardrop Plant Hangers – 2kg max

  • Large Teardrop Plant Hangers – 3kg max

We recommend oiling your product yearly with a plant based oil such as Linseed Oil, Tung Oil or Carnauba Wax.

Pastry Boards

When moisture reacts with the grains of the timber, some swelling can occur. If the swelling isn’t uniform, warping can occur. With the right upkeep, your board could last a lifetime.

Clean your board after every use!

  • Always wash both sides of the board with warm soapy water

  • Do not soak the board or wash it in a dishwasher

  • Once washed, dry the board with a tea towel

  • Do not leave your board to dry in direct sunlight

  • Stand the board on its end to allow the board to dry uniformly

Oiling your chopping board is essential. Depending on the level of use, your board should be oiled regularly. We recommend oiling every 2 to 3 months with a natural oil such as Linseed Oil, Tung Oil, or Carnauba Wax.

  • Before oiling, ensure that your board is clean and thoroughly dry.

  • Using a clean cloth or paper towels, apply the oil in an even layer over the wood.

  • Allow the oil to soak in. This can take several hours, and is usually best left overnight.

  • Remove any excess oil. Buff any sticky areas with a clean dry cloth.

Regular oiling will help maintain moisture levels in the timber and reduce the chances of the timber splitting and cracking.

Oil and Candle Holders
